Grand Canyon Water Park Chiang Mai – Entry Ticket

The experience

Twenty kilometres south of Chiang Mai, an old sandstone quarry filled with startlingly turquoise water has become the most photogenic day out in the north. Red and ochre cliffs drop straight into the lagoon, and floating on top of it is a giant inflatable obstacle course — trampolines, slides, climbing walls, balance beams and launch pads — plus a giant slider off the canyon edge, kayaks, paddleboards and a zipline across the water.

This is the entry-only ticket: park admission with the life jacket, the floating aqua park, the kid zone, kayaking, the giant slider, a SUP board and one round of the zipline, all included in the price. You make your own way there — a Grab from the city centre takes twenty to thirty minutes — which makes it the cheapest way in and the most flexible, since you can arrive when you like and stay until the park closes at 19:00.

It is a genuinely active day rather than a lounging one. The obstacle course punishes overconfidence in the most entertaining way possible, and most people spend the first hour falling in and the second hour getting good at it. Life jackets are mandatory and free, lifeguards are stationed around the water, and there is a shallow kid zone so families with younger children are not left out.

On site there are changing rooms and showers, lockers to rent, a souvenir shop and the canyon café and restaurant serving Thai and Western food, cold drinks, bakery and Korean bingsu. Note that outside food and drink are not allowed in, and that tickets are non-refundable, so pick a day with decent weather.

  2. 10:20

    The floating aqua park

The main event: a giant inflatable obstacle course over the lagoon, with trampolines, slides, climbing walls, balance beams and pillow bounces. Most people spend hours here.

  3. 11:30

    Giant slider and platform jumps

The giant slider fires you off the canyon edge into deep water. Platform jumping is next to it for anyone who wants a bigger drop.

  4. 12:30

Break at the on-site café and restaurant — Thai and Western dishes, cold drinks, bakery and Korean bingsu, with a view over the water.

  5. 13:30

    Kayak and SUP

Take a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard out across the quieter side of the lagoon, under the red and ochre canyon walls.

  6. 14:30

    Zipline over the lagoon

One round of the zipline across the water is included with the ticket, finishing with a drop into the lagoon (100 kg limit).

Shallow-water kid zone for families, or another lap of the obstacle course. The park stays open until 19:00.

Frequently asked questions

You do not need to be a strong swimmer, because a life jacket is mandatory and provided free — nobody is permitted in the water without one. That said, you will be in deep water on the floating course, so basic water confidence makes the day far more fun.

The zipline carries a maximum weight limit of 100 kg. Some individual features have their own height or age minimums, signed at the attraction; staff will advise on the day.

No — outside food, drink and snacks are not allowed inside the park. There is a café and restaurant on site serving Thai and Western dishes, drinks, bakery items and Korean bingsu.

Bring 200 THB for a locker: 100 THB rental plus a 100 THB deposit refunded when you return the key. Do not leave valuables at the water's edge.

By Grab or taxi from central Chiang Mai it is roughly 20–30 minutes south via the Hang Dong road. There is no direct public bus, so Grab is the practical option — or book our ticket-plus-red-truck-transfer package instead.

Swimwear, a towel, plenty of sunscreen, flip-flops or water shoes and a change of dry clothes. There is very little shade over the water and the canyon reflects a lot of sun.

No. Purchased tickets are non-refundable, and the park states it reserves the right on refunds in all cases including natural disasters. If heavy weather is forecast, talk to us before booking.
