The experience

This is the full-length version of one of the most complete adventure circuits in northern Thailand: 37 numbered stations strung across a forested valley an hour north of Chiang Mai, linked by zipline cables, rope bridges, monkey ladders, climbing walls and a purpose-built mountain coaster. You start and finish a short walk from the office building, so there is no long uphill trek at either end of the day — a small detail that makes a real difference once the adrenaline has worn off.

The zipline cables themselves are what people come for. The course opens gently with 30-, 20- and 40-metre hops to let you get used to the harness, then builds through a 150-metre flight, a 200-metre flight, and finally the signature 400-metre line — the longest single cable on the course, ridden high above the treetops with the valley opening out on both sides. Later there is a 150-metre Honeymoon line, a side-by-side tandem cable so couples and friends can fly together, and a final 100-metre run before the walk back.

Between the cables the course throws in things you will not find on a standard zipline: a 30-metre aerial skateboard that runs along a cable, a hanging sky tricycle you pedal between platforms, a mini race car on a suspended rail, a 40-metre "Kung Fu Walk" of narrow beams, two climbing walls, several monkey ladders and a 20-metre rope abseil that has you stepping backwards off a platform. Station 37 is the finale: a near-one-kilometre gravity coaster on a rail track built one to six metres above the forest floor, where a hand brake lets you choose anything from a gentle cruise to the full 40 km/h.

Everything is bundled into one price. A van collects you from your hotel at one of four departure windows, the drive out takes about an hour through the rice fields and hills north of the city, and the activity itself runs around an hour and a half. Afterwards you choose either a Thai buffet lunch with drinks or coffee and cake at the cafe beside the waterfall, and you go home with a souvenir T-shirt. Insurance is included and guides are stationed along the route to clip you on, check your gear and talk you through anything that looks intimidating.

Itinerary

  1. 07:00

    Hotel pick-up (four departures daily)

A van collects you from your hotel in Chiang Mai. Pick-up windows are 07:00-07:30, 09:30-10:00, 11:00-11:30 and 13:00-13:30 — you choose one when you book. The 07:00 departure is the coolest and quietest on the course.

  2. 08:00

    Arrival, registration and safety briefing

The drive takes around an hour. On arrival you collect your T-shirt, are fitted with your harness and helmet, and run through the safety briefing: how the pulleys and lanyards work, how to brake, and how to hold your position on the cable. No previous experience is needed.

  3. 08:20

    Stations 1 to 8 — the warm-up cables

The first platform is a short walk from the office. You start on short 30 m, 20 m and 40 m flights, then an 8-metre monkey ladder, a 10-metre rope bridge and a 20-metre rope abseil, before the first genuinely long cable: 150 metres over the trees.

  4. 08:50

Stations 9 to 20 — bridges, walls and the sky skateboard

The middle of the course is the most varied section: wooden log bridges, cushioned bridges, a zigzag rotating bridge, two hanging bridges, a climbing wall, the 30-metre aerial skateboard and the 40-metre Kung Fu Walk along narrow suspended beams.

  5. 09:20

Stations 21 to 25 — the 400-metre flight and the tandem line

The big ones. A 200-metre cable sets you up for the 400-metre signature flight across the widest part of the valley, and then the 150-metre Honeymoon line, where two riders launch side by side on parallel cables.

  6. 09:40

Stations 26 to 36 — the run for home

Rope bridges, monkey ladders, a 100-metre cable, a second climbing wall, a forest walkway and the suspended sky tricycle and race car bring you back around towards the office building.

  7. 10:00

Station 37 — the jungle coaster

The finale. You sit in a twin sledge on a rail track that runs for close to a kilometre between one and six metres above the ground, through jumps, twisters and camelbacks. The hand brake is yours: cruise it for the views or let go and hit 40 km/h.

  8. 10:30

    Lunch or coffee and cake

Back at the office you choose one of two options: the Thai buffet with drinks in the restaurant, or coffee and a slice of cake at the cafe overlooking the waterfall and the mountains. Drinking water is provided throughout the day.

  9. 11:30

    Return transfer to your hotel

The van takes you back to Chiang Mai, roughly an hour, dropping you at your hotel. Later departures follow exactly the same running order, shifted by the pick-up time.

Frequently asked questions

You must weigh at least 20 kg and no more than 100 kg. Both ends of the range are strict: the minimum exists because a very light rider can stall halfway along a long cable, and the maximum is the certified working load of the pulleys and platforms. Please tell us your weight when booking so we can confirm before you travel.

The 37-station course is the long one, about 90 minutes of activity, and it is the only one that includes the 400-metre cable, the 150-metre tandem Honeymoon line, the sky skateboard, the climbing walls and the Kung Fu Walk. The 18-station course takes around an hour and swaps those for a giant swing, a 20-metre quick jump free fall and a jungle bicycle. Both include the mountain coaster and both include transfer, meal and T-shirt.

The operator does not accept anyone who is unwell on the day, or anyone with a heart condition or high blood pressure. If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or have a back, neck or shoulder injury, please tell us before booking. Everyone must follow the guides’ instructions and no horseplay is permitted on the platforms.

Comfortable sports clothing and closed trainers — the harness sits over your thighs and waist, so shorts or leggings are far more comfortable than a skirt or loose trousers, and open shoes are not allowed. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent and a phone or camera that can be secured. A light jacket is worth having on the earliest departure.

Light rain is not a problem and the course runs through the green season. Guides will pause the circuit during a heavy downpour, thunder or lightning and resume when it is safe; you rarely lose more than part of the course. If the whole day has to be cancelled for weather we will move you to another date or refund you in full.

There is no printed minimum age — the 20 kg minimum weight is the real gate, which in practice means most children of around six and up. The course is deliberately built to escalate: the first cables are short and low, so nervous first-timers have several stations to settle before anything long or high. Guides clip and unclip you at every platform, so you are never handling the safety system yourself.

Around four to five hours door to door: an hour in the van each way, about ninety minutes on the course, and time for your meal. With the 07:00 or 09:30 departure you are back in Chiang Mai with the afternoon free.
