Refreshing Skin Ritual: Steam, Scrub & Oil Massage – 120 Minutes
The spa's flagship two-hour ritual: herbal steam bath, full-body scrub and a moisturising oil massage in a private garden-spa room.
- Duration
- 120 minutes
- Max group
- 2 pax

Two hours, three stages, and the most complete spa experience in our Chiang Mai range. This is the flagship ritual and one of the spa's best-sellers, and the sequence is the reason it works: steam first to open the pores, then exfoliate skin that is soft and receptive, then finish with a moisturising oil massage into skin that will actually absorb it.
The steam bath is where it begins — warm, herb-scented and long enough to properly relax you before anyone touches you. It also does something practical: opening the pores so that the scrub that follows lifts far more than a dry-skin exfoliation ever could. The scrub itself is the spa's own natural product, made with active ingredients extracted from local Thai herbs; the coffee scrub in the same house line won a top award in 2017 from the Thai Science and Technology Institute for soothing, brightening and anti-aging effects.
After rinsing, the final hour is a full-body massage with warm moisturising oil — back, shoulders, neck, arms, legs and feet — at a pressure you choose. By this stage most guests have stopped talking entirely. You come out with skin that feels genuinely different rather than just relaxed muscles, which is why this is the treatment people book for a birthday, an anniversary, or the last day before a long flight.
Everything happens in a private room with a warm massage bed at a small garden spa in the heart of the old town, minutes from Chiang Mai Gate. Free hotel pick-up around the old town is included, along with herbal welcome tea, towels and showers. Two hours goes quickly — book a day or two ahead, particularly in high season.

It does not feel like it. The steam and scrub take roughly the first hour and the massage the second, so nothing drags. If two hours is more than you have, the 90-minute scrub-and-oil-massage treatment covers the same ground without the steam bath.
You can, but it is the reason this ritual works better than a plain scrub — the heat opens the pores first. If heat does not suit you, take the 90-minute version instead.
Steam is usually avoided in pregnancy, with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, or acute illness. Tell us at booking and mention it again on arrival; the spa will recommend an alternative if needed.
Freshly exfoliated skin is more sun-sensitive for a day or so. Keep out of strong midday sun and use sunscreen if you are heading straight back out.
Yes — free pick-up around the old town area is advertised on the brochure. Give us your hotel name when you book and we will confirm the arrangement and the collection time. If you are staying outside the old town, tell us and we will check.
Yes, we recommend booking at least 24 hours ahead, and more in high season (November to February) when the good spas in Chiang Mai fill up in the evenings.
Yes — private rooms are available, including couples' rooms. Say so when you book so the right room is held for you.
Bring almost nothing. Loose spa clothing, towels and everything else needed is provided, and there are showers on site. Comfortable clothes to change back into afterwards are the only real recommendation.
Never expected, but it is customary in Thai spa culture and always appreciated. Fifty to a hundred baht for a therapist you were happy with is normal.
